NXP Semiconductors opens new high-tech headquarters in Hamburg!

A significant step for Hamburg's technology and innovation landscape: NXP Semiconductors has announced that it will move its headquarters in Germany from Lokstedt to Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. The new location will be built on Tasköprüstrasse and will bring together more than 800 employees under one roof. After all, the city of Hamburg has developed into an important hub for advanced technologies in recent years.

The modern office building is not only designed to be architecturally appealing, but also meets high sustainable criteria. The Hamburg real estate group Captiva is responsible for the development of the new company headquarters, while AUG. PRIEN Project Development will take over the construction and rent it to NXP. NXP is thus intensifying its research, development and marketing activities in the areas of automotive, industry and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Competence centers and innovation focal points

The headquarters will play an important role in Hamburg's high-tech ecosystem and house various competence centers. These include:

  • System-on-Chip-Sicherheit
  • Künstliche Intelligenz am Edge
  • Automatisierung und Robotik
  • Gesundheitswesen
  • Terahertz-Technologie für mobile Kommunikation und Automotive-Radar

CTO Lars Reger emphasizes that the move will not only benefit the employees, but will also strengthen the entire region. “We are creating a human-centered workplace,” says Reger.

A look into the future

The plan is to move into the new building in 2031. The relocation of the headquarters shows that NXP also thinks big internationally: In 2024, sales of USD 12.61 billion were achieved and the company is active in over 30 countries. In addition to the new headquarters in Hamburg, NXP now has four locations in Germany, with over 1,200 employees in total.

NXP is at the forefront of mobile communications, autonomous vehicle and cybersecurity technologies. The company's innovative strength is reflected not least in the development of high-resolution radar sensors that help prevent traffic accidents.
