Democracy conference in Hamburg-Nord: Together for diversity and commitment!
Something will happen in Hamburg-Nord on November 21, 2025! The district invites you to the “Democracy Conference” in the Goldbekhaus, Moorfuhrtweg 9. From 6 p.m., participants can look forward to exciting input, varied workshops and interesting discussions. Registration is necessary and can be done conveniently by email demokratieleben@tollerort-hamburg.de or by phone on 040 38615595. The venue is barrier-free so that everyone can be there. Visual captioning is available for people who are deaf, and special needs can also be specified upon registration to ensure everyone feels comfortable.
The conference is under the umbrella of the “Partnership for Democracy Hamburg-Nord”, which is managed by the Hamburg-Nord district office. The implementation is carried out by the coordination and specialist office (KuF) of TOLLERORT develop & participate GmbH. The aim of this partnership is to promote networking and participation in civil society and to promote projects that strengthen democratic engagement. So have a good hand for a lively community!
Support and vision for the future
But that's not all. The partnership is part of the federal program “Live Democracy!” promoted by the Federal Ministry for Education, Family, Seniors, Women and Youth was brought into being. This program aims to strengthen democratic engagement, promote networking and make diversity visible, while combating exclusion and extremism. The third funding period, which runs from 2025 to 2032, will also respond to current social challenges.
There are also exciting plans in the pipeline: a youth forum is to be founded and a situation and resource analysis is to be carried out in order to develop an effective plan for action. Funding funds are available, including an action and initiative fund specifically for projects in civil society, education and culture, and a youth fund for projects by young people. If you are interested, please contact the coordination and specialist office at demokratieleben@tollerort-hamburg.de turn around.
Commitment on multiple levels
The federal program “Living Democracy!” was launched in 2015 and has been continuously developing since then. The structure has been readjusted to keep pace with current social challenges. It is divided into three central areas of action: promoting democracy, shaping diversity and preventing extremism. This makes it one of the federal government's most comprehensive prevention programs. This initiative shows how important it is to take active action against group-based misanthropy and to promote strong, diverse coexistence.
Media representatives who would like to attend the democracy conference must also register. Kaja Weber from the press office of the Hamburg-Nord district office is looking forward to your email Pressestelle@Hamburg-Nord.Hamburg.de.
The conference in Hamburg-Nord promises to be extremely interesting. So if you would like to get actively involved in shaping our democracy and take part in a lively discussion, you should save this date and consider registering!
