City festival Münster Mittedrin” delights visitors with top acts!

Saturday, August 16th, was an eventful day in Münster, which began with a lot of positive atmosphere at the “Münster Mittendrin” city festival. The festival, which is an open-air stage event on Cathedral Square, attracted numerous visitors. Representatives of the police and fire brigade reported that everything went smoothly without any significant incidents, which only increased the joy of those present. In the evening, the bands Verified, Blumengarten and MEUTE performed, while there was already great anticipation for an AC/DC tribute band and a Queen tribute band for the next day. The city festival is an important point in the calendar of many Münster residents and invites everyone to celebrate together and enjoy the atmosphere.

But not only festive activities were on the agenda. At 12:16 p.m. the ANTENNE MÜNSTER editorial team informed about a diversion of line 5 on Friedrich-Ebert-Straße. This applies from the first trip until probably 6 p.m., as a construction crane has to be dismantled. The Scheibenstraße, Timmerscheidtstraße, Augustastraße, Friedrich-Ebert-Platz and Von-Steuben-Straße stops will be canceled during this time; the next stops are Metzer Straße, Alter Schützenhof and others, which will now be served.

Family program and craft market

A highlight for families was the “Jump Days at Aasee” with jumping competitions from E to L and a colorful program that included pony riding and a Riders Night. The premiere of the event took place with great interest and offered entertainment for young and old. At the same time, people could watch the craft market in Gimbte, which is taking place today and tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Around 100 exhibitors present their creative handicrafts and a diverse stage program rounds off the offering.

The preparations for the coming weeks cannot be overlooked either. On August 21st, long-awaited construction work begins on Wolbecker Straße, which will serve to drain rainwater and change the traffic landscape for at least two years. At the same time, the Pascal-Gymnasium is undergoing interior work, which is being invested with almost 22 million euros and will thus further enhance the educational facilities in Münster.

Social issues and important warnings

The police have also warned about fraudulent tradesmen who ring doorbells and try to trick unsuspecting citizens. There were also current warnings about the so-called “gold chain trick”, which is brazenly interested in the valuables of Münster residents. The city actively informs the population about these dangers in order to prevent damage and ensure greater safety.

Reports of shoplifters have increased in recent days. The press reported on two men who were arrested and are now in custody. This is another indication of the increasing challenges facing local authorities.

The beleaguered population of Münster will continue to take part in preparations for the local elections in the coming days, with election notifications being sent out from August 19th. With around 251,000 people eligible to vote, the hunt for votes will be exciting again.
