Future plan for Altona: Citizens shape the city of tomorrow!
Something is happening in Altona! The future plan “more Altona” has set itself the goal of actively shaping the spatial development of the Altona-Altstadt, Altona-Nord and Sternschanze districts over the next 15 to 20 years. Initiated as part of an open-ended and legally undefined process, this plan is intended to serve as a kind of compass for future developments. Residents are warmly invited to contribute their ideas and needs to this process. Like the website of hamburg.de reported, the focus is on the topics of housing development and the design of green and open spaces, among other things.
Citizens can actively participate and contribute their opinions. “This is an important aspect of this plan,” says Martina Nitzl from the Altona district office. More specifically, the dialogue is aimed at residents and experts from various disciplines. Landowners and potential investors are also invited to give their two cents. Community mobilization is clearly a priority so that the future Altona meets the needs of everyone.
Participation and co-creation
Another important component of the future plan is the modular participation process that is being implemented by TOLLERORT. This process involves broad citizen participation in order to develop a common vision. Public forums, creative workshops and special offers for different target groups, including children and young people, are intended to bring together the diversity of opinions and ideas. On the TOLLERORT website experience You can find out more about the detailed procedure for designing an Altona worth living in.
Innovative formats and technologies are also used. The PARTI-VR project from the Fraunhofer IFF shows how citizens can be involved in urban development through virtual reality elements. This initiative, which is being developed in Magdeburg, could also be interesting for Hamburg. The system makes it possible not only to visualize urban changes, but also to actively shape them by transferring suggestions into a digital 3D model. In this way, your own ideas become directly tangible. Further details can be found on the Fraunhofer IFF website here.
A look into the future
The coming years will be crucial for how Altona develops. The future plan has the potential to harmoniously connect the different parts of the city with one another and, through the diverse participation formats, offers the opportunity to fully incorporate the citizens' wishes into the planning. Anyone who is interested in getting actively involved can contact the Altona district office at any time to receive further information.
