New living space in Othmarschen: 90 new units planned!
In an exciting development for Othmarschen, the city of Hamburg is planning to create around 90 new residential units. The responsible authority for urban development and housing has set the course for the Othmarschen 42 development plan, which is to be designated as a general residential area. The location is promising as it is well developed and has existing infrastructure, which makes the project particularly attractive. The development envisages a combination of terraced houses and apartment buildings with two to four floors, with numerous families also expected to benefit from the new living space.
But the project is not just limited to building. A central concern is maintaining the green character of the neighborhood. The protection of the trees and shrubs worth preserving should be ensured, and new tree structures are planned to be planted. These measures serve to preserve the greenery in Othmarschen in the future. According to a report from the city hamburg.de, the ordinance on the development plan was already adopted on March 29, 2022 and in Hamburg on April 8, 2022 Law and regulation gazette published.
Relocation of sports fields and construction of new living space
Another crucial step in this process is the relocation of the use of the sports field from Othmarscher Kirchenweg to the new Baurstraße sports park. This decision makes it possible to optimize the space required for new residential buildings and increase the quality of life in the district. The sports field on Othmarscher Kirchenweg is also taken into account as part of the development plan process. According to the information from bv-hh.de, a concept tender for the sports field was carried out in 2017 and the area has been allocated since the beginning of 2018.
The selected development plan envisages a total of 21 terraced houses and 44 multi-storey apartments. What is particularly noteworthy is that of these 44 apartments, 10 units are intended for publicly subsidized housing. A building community is also planning to build a total of 25 residential units within this framework. The authority's Lid A7 project group will continue to advance the process and ensure that the interests of all those affected are taken into account.
Green spaces and public infrastructure
A well-thought-out development of the new residential area takes place via the Othmarscher Mühlenweg. The plan not only promotes housing construction, but also the creation of public green spaces. In the east and south of the area, the existing green structures will be largely retained, while a new public footpath and a playground area are planned from the park in the north to the footpath in the south. These measures are intended to improve the living environment and offer residents space to relax.
The Othmarschen 42 development plan makes an important contribution to meeting housing needs in Hamburg. This need is also supported by higher-level plans such as the Urban Development Plan for Housing 2040, which sets the strategic direction for the creation of housing by 2040 in other cities. The goals of this plan include ensuring the availability of space and promoting affordable housing, aspects that are also of great importance for Hamburg berlin.de.
Overall, the development of the Othmarschen 42 development plan shows how important balanced housing planning is for the well-being of residents, which should not only create apartments, but also make the living space and infrastructure sustainable.
