Hamburg has a new star in the world of culture: Hiro Yamada. The Japanese-born influencer from Hamburg has become known for his channel “Simply Japanese” on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. More than 300,000 subscribers follow his explanations about Japan and everything you should know about visiting the fascinating country. The well-known interpreter and translator took a new path during the Corona period and set up a small studio in Uhlenhorst with the help of his passion for the country and its culture. There he regularly produces videos that deal with the Japanese language and culture in order to give his audience an insight into the wide-ranging facets of Japanese life.
But that's not all: On August 11, 2025, his book “Simply Japanese” was published by the Hamburg Manga Publishing House altraverse was published. Yamada developed this creative mixture together with the award-winning manga artist David Füleki.
