Shiny lights and song magic: celebrate St. Martin's Day in Großköllnbach!
St. Martin's Day in Großköllnbach was a true festival of lights and community. On November 17, 2025 the St. Josef daycare center together with the Protestant parish in the picturesque parish church of St. Georg. Under the motto “Share”, hundreds of visitors gathered to celebrate this special day.
A highlight of the evening was the devotion entitled “Lisa and the St. Martin’s Light”. The touching story told of a girl named Lisa who transformed her room into a “St. Martin’s Room” using an old lantern. This story about the value of sharing was well received by the young listeners and their families.
Sea of lights and singing
The event was characterized by a magical atmosphere in which hundreds of small lights sparkled and the congregation sang with their voices in a choir. The children sang, among other things, “Sun, Moon and Stars,” which strengthened the feeling of togetherness and joy.
The educators and carers at the daycare center had a special knack for organizing the evening and thus contributed to the festive atmosphere. “It’s nice to see how everyone comes together and lives the tradition of sharing,” explains an employee at the facility.
The celebrations are not only an opportunity to remember the legend of St. Martin, but also a moment of reflection and joy for the entire community. The evening ended in a convivial atmosphere with a delicious buffet afterwards. St. Martin's Day in Großköllnbach will be remembered as a successful evening.
