Big school festival in the old forest: 60 years full of surprises!

On July 7, 2025, the time had finally come: The school in the old forest celebrated its 60th anniversary with a big festival that enjoyed real popularity. Around 4,000 visitors found the way to the celebrations, which opened with the opening commander of Economic Senator Melanie Leonhard, school senator Ksenija Bekeris and headmaster Andreas Wiedemann. A true folk festival that spoke both big and small!

The festival program not only attracted culinary treats, music and a variety of activities, but also included an exciting talk round and a tour of the festival area. The “Crafts Children” project, which was realized in cooperation with the Hamburg Chamber of Crafts, was particularly noticeable. In contrast to the hustle and bustle in the old forest, the Geschwister Scholl School in Fulda also celebrated its 60th birthday with a grand event under the motto "Magical Geschwister-Scholl-Schule". While a four -day project week preceded the festival, the students actively included in the planning, in which they prepared activities such as Batiken, Origami and the creation of friendship ribbons, the Hamburg school offered their guests an equally colorful program. Commitment and the right teamwork are required!
