Altonale 2025: Hamburg Chamber Ballet unites dance and compassion!
Things will soon be colorful again in Hamburg when the Altonale is coming up! This year's festival under the motto “Resonance” will take place from June 27th to July 6th, 2025 and has a lot to offer. A highlight in this context is the “Kunstkammer” event, which will take place on Thursday, July 3rd at 5 p.m. on the tent stage on the Altonaer Balcony. A cross-section of the Hamburg Chamber Ballet's previous work will be presented. This troupe was only founded in the summer of 2022 by Isabelle Rohlfs and Edvin Revazov and has quickly made a name for itself.
On the said day, the Hamburg Chamber Ballet will combine classical and contemporary dance forms under the artistic direction of Edvin Revazov. There are eight outstanding dancers who want to inspire the audience with a lot of passion: including Viktoriia Miroshyna, Ihor Khomyshchak, Oleksiy Grishun, Alisa Nikitina, Vladyslav Bondar, Veronika Hordina, Milla Loock and Nicolas Gläsmann. This event not only has an artistic focus, but is also committed to supporting displaced Ukrainian dancers - a combination of dance and social relevance that once again shows how important culture is in turbulent times. The second performance will take place on Friday, July 4th, at the same time on the tent stage.
A festival for all senses
The Altonale itself is a true festival of culture and art that includes music, literature, theater, film, dance and a variety of participatory activities. Another attraction is the Altonale flea market, which, like the art market on Christianswiese and the “Buntes Altona” information mile, make this festival so magical. An integral part is the festival center on Republic Square, where visitors can meet and exchange ideas. In addition to the dance performances, STAMP, an international street arts festival, will also take place every day from July 4th to 6th and is sure to attract many onlookers.
You can also find out about the variety of events directly on the official altonale website, which offers further details about the “Kunstkammer” of the Hamburger Kammerballett here.
In a city like Hamburg, which is rich in cultural events, the Altonale Festival is a fixed date in the calendar of culture lovers. If you compare the Altonale with other large events in Germany, it becomes clear that it is not just about art, but also about strengthening community. Whether it's the Bayreuth Festival, which is a must for music lovers every summer, or the Beethoven Festival in Bonn - they all show the immense diversity of the cultural offerings in our country. But the altonale has its own charm and brings all Hamburg residents together to share a little joy and inspiration.
So, don't forget: From June 27th to July 6th, Altona comes to life and there is a lot to discover. Mark the dates, come along and have a great time - it will definitely be worth it!
