New pump track in Wandsbek: Action for kids and young people!

On July 14, 2025, not only did the sun shine in Hamburg, but there was also exciting news for all sports-loving kids and teens. As the Wandsbek districts reported, a new area in the Tegelsbarg park will be inaugurated on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., which was specially designed for the young generation. Here, teens can develop their riding skills with mountain bikes, BMX bikes, scooters or skateboards.

The location of the new attraction is north of the construction playground, between Högenredder and Johannes-Büll-Weg. Department head Maria-Dolores Töllner-Aguirre from the Wandsbek district office will also be present at the inauguration, who, together with the landscape architecture office HHVH, will provide insights into the creation of the facility. Music, snacks and hands-on activities create a relaxed atmosphere and invite you to linger.

Enjoy your free time on two wheels

A special highlight will be the inauguration of the pump track by BMX professional Moritz Wolf from the Hamburg Cycling Association. Pump tracks, which are gaining popularity internationally, are activity areas for mobile transport on rollers and wheels. They promote motor skills, strength and endurance in children, while at the same time supporting the fun of movement and the community experience. Playground landscape describes that these circuits are suitable for various sports such as bikes, skateboards and scooters, making them a perfect place for beginners and advanced riders.

The pump track facility in Tegelsbarg will attract all age groups. Here children can safely learn to drive and refine their techniques, while the more advanced drivers have the opportunity to further develop their skills. Sharing these areas not only promotes individual progress, but also social interactions between users.

No more boredom

The inauguration of the facility not only brings relaxation but also action. The summer advisory board of the TeMu district advisory board will also be on site following the opening at 6:30 p.m. The event is accompanied by a tour of the park, during which information on the current status of the construction project is provided. It shows once again how important such projects are in order to offer exciting leisure opportunities to future generations.

To everyone who is looking forward to the opening, this is the opportunity not only to get to know the pump track, but also to network with other young sports enthusiasts.

The pump track is not only becoming a trend in Wandsbek, but could also become a popular destination for the entire family in Hamburg, similar to the renowned example at Camping de Kleine Wolf, where a large pump track includes a children's track of 43 meters and a full-fledged track of 181 meters. Reports prove that pump tracks are not only fun, but also contribute to fitness and encourage the use of roller sports equipment.

In an urban area, the new pump track facility offers a great opportunity to be active and have a good time - making leisure time twice as much fun!
