Summer festival in Rieden: delicacies and music delight the guests!

A touch of Bavarian idyll wafted around the summer festival of the St. Georg Rieden brass band, which took place in front of the St. Josef parish hall after the Corpus Christi procession on June 19, 2025. The festively decorated area was filled to capacity with enthusiastic guests when the Grand Orchestra under the direction of conductor Miroslav Zgrzendek opened the event with a lively “Bohemian Dream”. As the Central Bavarian reported that the brass band not only offered musical delights, but also a lavish selection of food.

The event began at 11 a.m. with a cozy breakfast drink, which attracted numerous visitors. Chairman Sebastian Zapf did not miss the opportunity to warmly welcome those present. A highlight of the program was the waving of flags by the flag bearers of the clubs to the sound of the “Bavarian Presentation March”, followed by a celebratory firecracker shot that opened the secular part of the festival. In addition to the large orchestra, various brass band ensembles entertained the guests with musical performances.

Culinary delights and entertainment for the little ones

The culinary offerings left nothing to be desired: from hearty Surbraten and tender suckling pig to bratwursts and spicy grilled meat - there was a good deal in the kitchen here. Those who liked it sweet were treated to an extensive cake and tart buffet as well as traditional cakes. The positive feedback on the quality of the food was immediately noticeable and made the festival a real pleasure.

A children's program was also prepared for the younger festival visitors. From 2:30 p.m., the youngest children were able to try out instruments such as clarinets, tenor horns, trumpets and drums - a great opportunity to arouse musical interest and perhaps give the new young talents their first performance. The young musicians were also able to show off their skills in the afternoon, which left many smiling faces.

The summer festival of the St. Georg Rieden brass band is not only a social event, but also an important part of Bavarian culture. The event attracted not only locals, but also cyclists from the Five Rivers Cycle Path, who happily immersed themselves in Bavarian tradition.
