Langenbach: Health shop replaces the pharmacy – this is how it continues!

What is happening in Langenbach? The small community is facing a change in the health sector. From January 2026 there will no longer be a pharmacy here, because the Malven pharmacy, which has been run by Barbara M. Hofmann since 2019, is closing its doors today, December 31, 2025. The good news: A new health shop will open its doors on January 5, 2026 and promises a breath of fresh air in local health care.

The new operator, Frank Füßl, is no stranger to the region. He already runs the St. Georg Pharmacy in Freising and brings with him a long family tradition in the pharmacy business - his father founded the Dom Pharmacy in the 1960s. Füßl has set itself the goal of offering a wide range of over-the-counter drugstore products, dietary supplements and cosmetics through the new health shop. There will also be the option of ordering prescription medications both on site and conveniently via the app, which will certainly suit many customers.

Opening hours and practical services

“Same day pickup?” This is exactly what will become reality in the new shop. Orders received by 12 p.m. can be picked up from 4 p.m. This shows Frank Füßl's commitment to taking customer service to a new level. An order pickup machine is also in the plan, which will certainly add convenience.

To ensure that customer service does not come to a standstill despite the closure of the old pharmacy, six employees from the Malven pharmacy will work in the new health shop. The opening times are fixed: daily from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., except Wednesday afternoon. This offers the people of Langenbach and surrounding communities numerous opportunities to easily obtain their health products.

Integration of the post office and future prospects

The new health shop will not only be a point of contact for medical products. Frank Füßl is also planning talks with DHL to integrate postal services, which should take place in mid-January 2026. The post office, which was previously housed in a container in the Sparkasse parking lot, could then be moved as early as March 2026. This shows that everything is thought of here to offer residents a comprehensive service.

In addition, there are initial indications of a team of doctors who will probably present a new concept on Bahnhofstrasse at the beginning of February 2026. This could further expand the healthcare offering in Langenbach and offer citizens even more options for medical care.

Although the closure of the Malven pharmacy is a loss for the community, the new health shop under the management of Frank Füßl offers an exciting perspective for the future of health care in Langenbach.
