Hartz and warmly: New season from Hamburg-Mitte from February 10th!
On February 10, 2026, the popular reality documentary “Hartz und Herzen” will celebrate its debut from the Hamburg-Mitte district on RTLzwei. This new season is a breath of fresh air as it focuses on the realities of people struggling with money issues. It is the first time that the camera captures the challenges faced by residents in this region. Viewers can look forward to a total of six new editions, which will be broadcast every Tuesday at 8:15 p.m.
In the first three episodes we get a direct insight into the lives of the protagonists. This includes, among others, 65-year-old Ilse from Veddel, who, together with her partner Daniel, who is 26 years her junior, dreams of renovating their social housing. But luck doesn't seem to be on her side, because Ilse receives unpleasant news about her past. Caretaker Andy from Veddel also comes into focus - always helpful and a good friend to his neighbors, he suddenly finds himself confronted with the threat of a power cut.
A look back at the past year
After the challenges of the protagonists were presented in the first phase, things will get exciting in the next three issues: Here the creators go on a journey through time and show how the lives of the residents have changed over the course of a year. This type of storytelling offers a deeper insight into the complex fates of the people who live in Hamburg-Mitte and are often overlooked by society.
The current season of “Hartz und Herzen” comes at a time when the format is already ten years old. RTLzwei recently celebrated this occasion with a special edition, which, however, only reached fewer than 500,000 viewers and generated a market share of 4.1 percent. Despite the somewhat weakening interest, the UFA Show & Factual production remains an integral part of television.
There is even more for fans to discover before the premiere: another new show will follow on February 11th - “crass and crazy: Camper 2”, moderated by travel influencer Yvonne Pferrer. This issue is all about the passion for camping and the most bizarre motorhomes.
