Mysterious shooting in Heimfeld: Police are urgently looking for witnesses!

In a worrying incident in Hamburg-Heimfeld, several cars were damaged by gunfire on November 8, 2025 at around 6:45 p.m. At this point, residents heard several bangs, which were initially incorrectly interpreted as firecracker explosions. A 41-year-old vehicle owner finally noticed bullet holes in his Mercedes and immediately alerted the police. Another vehicle owner also reported injuries to his Opel the following day, which further intensified the police investigation. A few hours after the incident, officers from Police Department 46 found several bullet casings nearby, which will serve as evidence, as well as an additional damaged vehicle.

The investigation was initially carried out by Long-term criminal service (LKA 26) taken over and later to that State Criminal Police Office for Firearms Offenses (LKA 183) hand over. The exact motive of the perpetrator is still unclear, and there is currently no evidence of a connection to the cars or the location. The police are now looking for witnesses who can provide information about the time of the crime or possible vehicles.

Description of the perpetrator

The search for the unknown perpetrator is in full swing. He is described as being around 30 years old and with a southern appearance. He had a dark beard and was wearing a white cap, a black jacket with white applications, gray sweatpants and white shoes at the time of the crime. After the shots, the unknown man fled across Grumbrechtstrasse.

The incident in Heimfeld is one of a number of similar incidents. According to the Police Crime Statistics (PKS) from the Federal Criminal Police Office, crime in Germany fell by 1.7% overall in 2024, but the increase in crimes that affect citizens' sense of security is causing worried faces.
