On Sunday night, at 3:25 a.m., there was a magnificent bang in Hamburg-Jenfeld that woke residents from their sleep. How Bild.de Reportedly, two Mercedes exploded on Hermine-Albers-Strasse, causing significant damage. Parts of the vehicles were thrown up to 30 meters, and a parked VW Polo was also affected. The police reacted immediately and cordoned off the area while specialists from the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) arrived to investigate the circumstances of the explosion.
Investigators suspect that explosives may have been involved. The LKA 75, responsible for explosion crimes, has taken over the case. Another interesting aspect: On one of the damaged Mercedes, the license plate does not match the vehicle, but belongs to a Seat. The exact origin and cause of the explosion are currently unclear, but it remains to be seen whether there is a connection to the recent acts of violence in Hamburg. Since May, there have been increasing reports of shootings and even a bomb attack on another vehicle in the city.
Rapid increase in crimes

The police have continuously carried out increased controls and priority operations in these areas in order to strengthen citizens' sense of security. The Interior Senator and the Police Chief praised the police's efforts and emphasized a positive development in crime statistics.
These developments in the security situation are no coincidence. A deeper look at the statistics shows that although Hamburg is becoming safer overall, the potential for danger is still growing. The events in Jenfeld could therefore only be the beginning when it comes to the conflict between different groups in the city.
While the people of Hamburg continue to hope for a safe home, incidents like the explosion in Jenfeld are a disturbing sign that the fragility of security is always present in a large city like Hamburg.
