New Candlewood Suites in Barmbek: Hamburg's hotel landscape is growing!
Something is happening in Hamburg! A new Candlewood Suites hotel will open in the Barmbek district by 2027. This was recently announced and is a joint project between NOVUM Hospitality and IHG Hotels & Resorts. The future “Candlewood Suites Hamburg North” will be built at Marschnerstieg 1 and will be designed with 175 fully equipped studios and apartments, primarily for business travelers and international guests who are planning longer stays. This is what Development City reports.
The hotel not only meets modern standards, but also relies on energy-efficient technologies. bda Projektbau GmbH is responsible for the implementation as a service developer. The hotel is also located in an up-and-coming district that benefits from numerous residential and commercial projects and offers excellent public transport connections.
Further projects in the Hamburg area
But that's not all! Another Candlewood Suites hotel is also planned in Wandsbek, which will open its doors on Brauhausstrasse in 2027 with over 120 apartments. A further step in the partnership between NOVUM Hospitality and IHG Hotels & Resorts was sealed in a rental agreement recently signed with IHG at the Expo Real real estate fair in Munich. This project is the fourth of its kind, according to reports from [Novum Hospitality](https://www.novum-hospitality.com/weiteres-gemeinsames- Growth-novum-hospitality-ihg-hotels-resorts-unterzeichen-mietvertrag-fuer-candlewood-suites-hotel-in-hamburg).
The location in Wandsbek impresses with its good transport connections and varied shopping and leisure options. The hotel will also be realized as a sustainable wooden hybrid building, which is currently trendy and very popular with guests. NOVUM Hospitality CEO David Etmenan emphasizes both companies' commitment to shared growth, while Mario Maxeiner, Managing Director Northern Europe at IHG, praises the increasing demand in the extended stay segment.
Growth with vision
Both hotels, both in Barmbek and Wandsbek, serve different accommodation needs, which further strengthens NOVUM's strategic orientation towards brand-led concepts. With the new Candlewood Suites in Barmbek and the planned hotel in Wandsbek, IHG's future presence in Hamburg amounts to several exciting locations, as well as the now established “Candlewood Suites Hamburg East” in Wandsbek, which is also scheduled to be realized by 2027.
Another hotel project is the Voco Hotel in Altona, which is planned for 2028. The rapid development of Hamburg's hotel industry is obvious, and the new hotels offer fresh impetus for the business travel and tourism market in the Hanseatic city.
All of these developments show that Hamburg not only values traditional hospitality, but also innovative approaches and sustainable concepts. We can look forward to the coming years and the new opportunities that these hotel projects will offer!
