On December 6th, Hamburg's music scene will celebrate an exciting event: Janek Pentz and Karol Muskala, both winners in the “Popular Guitar Styles” category, will give a joint concert hosted by the Haspa Music Foundation is promoted. The two talented guitarists bring their unique styles to the stage, while Pentz impresses with a mix of rock, pop, jazz and classical, while Muskala, a self-taught musician, impresses with his energetic and emotional playing.
But the duo won't be alone. They perform together with the renowned Reentko Dirks, who has already worked with artists such as Yo-Yo Ma and Giora Feidman as well as numerous other greats from the music scene. Commitment to young musicians
Christian Moritz, who founded the GuitarHamburg initiative 25 years ago, is particularly committed to young musicians. With over 300 “Jugend musiziert” award winners, he is not only active as a guitar teacher, but also organizes important events such as the Hamburg Guitar Festival and the Hamburg Guitar Days. In his work for GuitarHamburg, he offers free ensemble offerings, workshops and concerts for children and young people and repeatedly emphasizes the unifying power of music and the importance of self-confidence in artistic development.
The next steps to promote the music scene have already been initiated. The Music City Fund, which was launched in 2017 to mark the opening of the Elbphilharmonie, has now been increased to almost one million euros. This strengthens artistic diversity in Hamburg and ensures fair salaries for funded projects. Senator Dr. Carsten Brosda emphasizes how important this funding is for the creative music scene.
