FC St. Pauli celebrates record sales and stadium expansion to 50,000 seats!

On November 15, 2025, a positive balance sheet for the 2024/2025 financial year was presented at the annual general meeting of FC St. Pauli, which creates a spirit of optimism in the legendary Kiez football community. Loud NDR The club was able to achieve a record turnover of over 100 million euros, which represents a significant increase compared to the 80 million euros of the previous year. At the same time, the club secured a profit of around two million euros, even if the previous year performed slightly better at 2.5 million euros.

President Oke Göttlich was confirmed in office with an impressive majority of over 93 percent of the vote. He took the opportunity to present ambitious plans for the coming years: plans are underway to expand the Millerntor Stadium to 40,000 to 50,000 seats, which could make St. Pauli even more attractive in the football business. The stadium expansion will be carried out independently of Hamburg's ongoing Olympic bid.

Sporting ambitions despite challenges

However, the sporting situation remains challenging: St. Pauli recently suffered its seventh league defeat in a row in Freiburg. Despite these setbacks, Göttlich wants the club to pursue its sporting ambitions with a clear head. In his speech, he noted that you can be successful without major investor commitments - evidence of this is the current Bundesliga participation and the associated economic stability.

Particular attention is also paid to the club's equity: thanks to the “Football Cooperative St. Pauli”, the club now owns a large majority in the Millerntor Stadium. This cooperative already has over 22,623 members and represents a real milestone in the history of the association, as commercial manager Wilken Engelbrecht emphasized.

Controversies and internal discussions

Internal controversies were also discussed at the meeting. Göttlich commented on the recent scandal surrounding Captain Jackson Irvine, who came under fire for wearing a pro-Palestinian T-shirt. Supervisory board member René Born was fined after making critical comments about Irvine.

Overall, the meeting shows that FC St. Pauli remains on a stable course. With a solid financial base, sporting goals and a strong membership base, the club has the potential to develop further in the coming years.
