Hamburg is facing comprehensive changes to rail transport in the coming weeks. From July 12th to 23rd, 2025 there will be construction work on the S-Bahn tracks between Wilhelmsburg and Hammerbrook. This means for commuters and travelers: From Saturday, around 1 a.m., to Monday, also around 1 a.m., the S-Bahn line S5 will be severely restricted. There is a route from Stade to Wilhelmsburg, but many stops are omitted, including those at the Elbe bridges. The buses provided as replacement services do not stop at these important points.
