Motorists in Hamburg are facing a remarkable traffic event. From June 13th to 16th, 2025, the A7 will be completely closed in an important section. The closure affects the section between Hamburg-Stellingen and Hamburg-Heimfeld and will last a total of 55 hours. The main reason for this extensive measure is construction work to expand the A7 to eight lanes and work on the future HH-Hafen motorway junction. These measures are part of a larger project to improve traffic capacity and safety on this busy artery. The Köhlbrand Bridge will also be closed during this period due to a main bridge inspection.
Detour and alternative transport
The corresponding diversions for national traffic that does not want to go to Hamburg lead from Neumünster-Süd via the B205, A21 and A1 back to the A7. An alternative route is recommended for drivers who want to drive into Hamburg city center. This leads from Schnelsen-Nord via the B432, B433 or via Kollaustraße.
