Family party in kindergarten: fun and action for young and old!
On June 29, 2025, the St. Georg kindergarten was transformed into a colorful meeting place for adventurers big and small. In brilliant weather, children, parents, siblings and grandparents celebrated a happy family celebration that was full of games and fun. The organization was taken over by the parents' council, which created enthusiasm with great activities and campaigns.
One of the most popular participation activities was the exciting game “Who can transport the most water in sponges to the bucket?”, which provided a wet but fun experience. But also the challenge “Who will cut the longest newspaper line?” allowed the participants to be creative. The teams also competed against each other to build the Fröbel Tower with great commitment – a steady hand was required here!
Story picnic and other attractions
A special highlight was the story picnic, where young and old were taken together into the world of stories. Stories are not only entertaining at this age, but also promote language development. As histories-haus.com beautifully describes, participatory stories combine entertainment with active participation. For example, the children were able to show their commitment through movement stories and play stories.
The creative offering was complemented by colorful glitter tattoos and face painting offered by the parents' association. The crowning conclusion of the festival was a communal singing, which brought everyone together and created the perfect setting for a harmonious get-together. At the end, the little guests were treated to delicious ice cream, which was sure to leave their faces smiling on the way home.
Participatory stories as a valuable learning experience
The importance of stories and active participatory activities was also made clear in the various formats of participatory stories for children. These stories can not only serve as a pastime, but also promote knowledge and skills, as donbosco-medien.de illustrates. From sneezing rabbits to jumping cows, the practical book offers suitable suggestions for language development and active listening.
Stories like “Feeding the Horses” or “Dinos Looking for Their Eggs” show how dynamic and educational participating in hands-on stories can be, be it in kindergarten or at home. These formats are particularly suitable for experiencing exciting adventures and discovering important learning content in a playful way. The family festival in the St. Georg kindergarten proved once again how valuable such experiences are for the development of our little ones.
