The anticipation is great: On Friday, June 13th, the new Lego Discovery Center will open its doors in the Westfield Überseequartier in Hamburg. The exciting novelty is presented on an impressive area of 3,000 square meters and offers numerous experiences for small and large builders. The star reports on the lovingly designed miniature replica of Hamburg, which was created with the help of over 25,000 hours of construction time and more than 100 master builders.
The architects were particularly impressed by the recreated landmarks such as the impressive Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg City Hall and the Landungsbrücken. The construction time for the window construction of the Elbphilharmonie alone took 100 hours, while 1,500 panes were inserted by hand. Here it becomes clear how much attention to detail goes into this attraction.
A variety of adventure areas for the whole family
The Lego Discovery Center is an ideal indoor attraction for families with children ages 2 to 12. Lego Discovery Centre emphasizes that the facility is specifically designed to meet the needs of younger visitors. Sixteen different experience areas await little guests, including the “Space Mission”, in which a self-made Lego spaceship can be digitally scanned and controlled, and the “Imagination Express”, which offers a virtual train ride through a gigantic Lego world.
The “Minifigure Workshop” and the “Action Zone” allow children to get creative and play with their own Lego figures. Especially for the little ones, there is a Duplo Park with large Lego bricks, which guarantees safety and fun. Another highlight is the 4D cinema experience, in which interactive Lego films are shown and children can immerse themselves in the world of Lego City.
Visitor rules and after work events
There are clear regulations for visiting the Lego Discovery Center: age group and visitor composition are crucial. Adults and groups without children must comply with the regulations Lego Discovery Centre that restrict access to adults without children.
