On Sunday, June 24, 2025, the eagerly awaited Hamburg Marathon will take place in Hamburg. Almost 40,000 runners will conquer the streets of the Hanseatic city and compete with each other over various distances. The participants also include top-class runners such as Richard Ringer, the German European champion, and Brigid Kosgei, who once set a world record. HDSports reports that Ringer achieved a personal best of 2:05:46 hours and plans to run under the 2:07 mark on Sunday.
The event will be broadcast live on NDR from 9:15 a.m., and not only the professionals, but also amateurs and hobby runners are warmly invited to take on the 42.195 kilometer route. Around 15,000 participants have registered for the marathon, plus marathon relays and the half marathon, which will result in an impressive total field of 38,000 athletes. Another highlight will be the **Bramfeld Half Marathon** on October 12th, which also offers different distances. With a registration fee of just 15 euros for the 5 km and 23 euros for the half marathon, the fun is affordable for everyone. If you want to run in winter, you shouldn't miss the **Christmas Run to Tree** on November 30th, where participants hit the streets in festive Santa hats.

Those interested can register online for the upcoming events. Registration for the various distances often begins several months in advance. For example, you can register for the **HafenCity Run**, a charitable run without timekeeping, until May 30, 2026, taking various participant fees into account. The diverse selection of dates and distances ensures that there is something for every taste and fitness level.
