Triathlon World Cup in Hamburg: Experience the women’s race and mixed relay live!
The countdown has begun: This weekend Hamburg will host the World Triathlon Championship Series, which is entering the fifth round with an exciting competition. The triathlon spectacle begins on Saturday, July 12, 2025, and athletes can prepare for a sprint distance of 750 meters of swimming, 20 kilometers of cycling and 5 kilometers of running. Both the men's and women's individual races take place. The starting signal for the men will be given at 4:35 p.m., while the women will take to the track at 6:40 p.m., as Netzwelt reports.
A total of around 8,500 participants are expected at the event, who will not only fight for the coveted medals, but can also collect points for the overall ranking. Hamburg is the fourth of eight stops in this series, and the German team, led by Olympic champions Lisa Tertsch and Lasse Lührs, is aiming for its third win in a row. The mixed relay will take place on Sunday, July 13, 2025, with a slightly different route profile: 300 meters of swimming, 7 kilometers of cycling and 1.75 kilometers of running. The event will be broadcast live on stream by ARD, and the mixed race starts at 1:50 p.m., according to NDR.
Exciting competitions and challenges
At the last race in Hamburg, Henry Graf achieved the best result for Germany with fifth place, but suffered a fall. Meanwhile, the German women had to clearly distance themselves from the podium. What is particularly noteworthy is that Lisa Tertsch came ninth in the last event and thus had to give up the lead in the world championship. This shows that the competition is taking place at a high level and promises exciting competitions next weekend, as Hamburg Triathlon highlights.
But the focus is not just on the athletic challenges. The city will face road closures during the events. The police recommend that you avoid the city center as far as possible to avoid possible traffic problems. So, dear Hamburgers, plan your routes well! A good reason to combine the weekend with an excursion or a bike ride.
An event for everyone
The triathlon weekend in Hamburg has long since established itself as a magnet for sports enthusiasts. In addition to the top-class competitions, there is also the opportunity to take part in the Open Races, which also take place on Saturday and Sunday. Here all fitness team enthusiasts can demonstrate their skills and become part of this great event. In addition, the student triathlon took place in Hamburg's city park in June, introducing children and young people in particular to the sport of triathlon.
The event not only promises top sporting performances, but also a great experience for spectators and active participants. With this concentrated load of action and motivation, it's definitely worth coming by or watching the exciting races in the live stream!
