SV Ottensen is urgently looking for footballers: enthusiastic Ü30 players urgently needed!

Ottensen, Deutschland - The SV Ottensen faces a real challenge: the football club cannot currently set up a full men's team. Trainer Sven Schmidt admits that the Situation is serious, because only ten players are active in the Ü30 team. Due to the demographic change, professional commitments, family reasons and house construction, fewer and fewer men aged 30 and over find time to regularly come to football training. However, Schmidt emphasizes: "The motivation and enthusiasm are available, only the teammates are missing."

To cope with the problems, the Ü30 team receives support from OÜ40 players. But these too are often restricted by their own obligations. A possible solution could be the establishment of a syndicate or the use of guest players. In order to strengthen the team, the club calls all football-loving men aged 30 and over to join the Ü30 team. We are looking for reliable players who enjoy football.

training and perspectives

The training takes place on Wednesdays at 7.15 p.m. and is held together with the Ü40 team. The location changes between the school center south in Buxtehude and the sports field on Konopkastraße. In the long term, it is planned that the Ü30 team will train permanently on the Konopkastraße sports field. The SV Ottensen is not only in these challenges. According to a report by the German Olympic Sports Association (DOSB), around 40,000 sports clubs in Germany, around 45 percent of all sports clubs, are affected by demographic change. The main causes are the decline in youth and the aging of the population, which makes it difficult for the clubs to gain new members and to keep existing ones [dosb] (https://www.dosb.de/aktuelles/detail/themenbericht-demographischer-wa-40000-sportverein-vom-demographische-wandel-

adaptation and strategies

The sports clubs must actively react to these changes to secure their future. A conscious handling of the challenges of demographic change is a key to success. Many clubs have already taken new advertising measures and offer innovative programs or cooperation to gain and bind members. The middle and large clubs in particular feel the effects clearly. While fewer children and adolescents are often present in new federal states, the aging of the population in older federal states is the greatest challenge bisp.

A constant change is inevitable with these challenges. The observation and analysis of demographic developments are important so that sports clubs can develop strategies in good time in order to successfully cope with this change.
