New cycling motor skills park in Mülheim: groundbreaking ceremony for innovative sports facility!

Innovative usage options

The course will contain eleven obstacles, which are usefully divided into the categories “motor skills and driving training” and “in road traffic”. This is done to train the diverse skills of cyclists. The initiators of the project point out that the need for such exercise locations in Mülheim has become ever greater because there was previously only insufficient space that could be used for cycling. Despite this, conflicts such as misuse of skating facilities and parking spaces have already had mixed effects, with increased risks.

The decision to build the wheel motor skills park was made by District Government 2 on June 28, 2024. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia is providing a generous 393,000 euros as part of the “Modern Sports Facility 2022” funding program. The total cost of the park is around 830,000 euros.
